Direct Answer

This rapid test detects Pf HRP2 + Pan LDH in WB to support Malaria. It is a colloidal-gold screening test — a reactive result is presumptive and should be confirmed per the intended use.

Intended Use

Detection of P. falciparum (HRP2) and Pan-Plasmodium (pLDH) antigen for species differentiation.

Clinical Context

Combines Pf-specific HRP2 with Pan LDH (detects all human malaria species) — enables Pf vs non-Pf differentiation in one device, aligned with WHO RDT guidance.

Test Principle

Colloidal-gold immunochromatography (lateral flow). The device captures the target analyte (antigen or antibody) on a membrane via labeled antibodies, producing a visible test line within minutes. Qualitative or semi-quantitative, intended as a screening/triage aid — not a replacement for confirmatory laboratory testing.

Limitations

Cannot distinguish P. vivax from P. ovale/malariae; HRP2 persistence caveats apply.

Procurement

Specimen: whole blood. Format: cassette, 25 T. CE-marked line.
